Brad Miller was born on April 12, 1976 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He rose to basketball stardom playing for Purdue. Towering over his fans at seven feet tall, and weighing just over 250 pounds, he started his NBA career as a free agent. In 1998, he played on the Bronze medal winning USA Men’s World Basketball Championship team. Brad played for the Charlotte Hornet’s from 1998 to 2000, followed by two years with the Chicago Bulls, and then home to Indiana for a season with the Pacers. With only five years in the league, he was ready to stay in Indiana, but the Sacramento Kings offered him a deal he simply could not pass up. After a nice run with the Kings Brad was traded to the Chicago Bulls and is loving it. With nine years in the league, Brad has called Sacramento home since 2003 and most recently back to Chicago.
Sporting size 16 Nike’s and a number 52 jersey, the player is ranked first in the NBA among centers in assists. He is one of only five undrafted NBA players to make an All-Star team; in fact, he’s played on two All-Star teams. In his spare time, Brad focuses on underprivileged children. Every Christmas, he host’s a Toy Shopping Spree for kids from Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Sacramento. When he goes home to Kendallville, Indiana, in the summer, he host’s a golf tournament benefiting Big Brother and Big Sister of Northeast Indiana. He helped re-establish the Kings Reading and Learning Center in Sacramento. He was also the King’s representative for the Reading Team Challenge during the 2003-04 season. After Hurricane Katrina, he participated in an event to helped displaced families in the Sacramento area. He’s been on Wheel of Fortune, for NBA Week in 2003. And saluted his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, by singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the seventh inning stretch at a Cubs-Astros game. He loves NASCAR, which goes hand in hand with his love of country music. Not only that, he loves to play golf as well. When he’s not playing ball, or helping kids, he goes home to his 900 acres in Indiana to hunt, fish, and ride four wheelers. 2009 is an exciting year for Brad. His new outdoor show, Country Boys Outdoors, will debut, with co-host, Jon Brunson. There are some exciting hunts from around the nation, including a trip to Alaska, and a bear hunt in Canada.
